This is the 12.1 inch display netbook from Dell. It comes with the Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic (or)Ubuntu Linux version 8.04.1 Operating Systems. The hard drive is the regular SATA type 4200pm upto 80GB. There is no in built speaker and provision for Solid State Drive. The RAM is 1GB which is good enough for Vista operating system. If you are looking for a mini laptop with comfortable keyboard for fast typing, this is the right choice for you.
For Netbook lovers, this 12 inch version seems like a normal 14inch laptop and the difference between both is hardly visible. The only reason to buy this Dell Mini12 would be its less weight of 1.236Kgs(With 3cell battery). This is great useful for business frequent travellers to carry a loptop for simple tasks like cheking e-mails and browsing internet with moderate typing work.
The Webcam is 1.3 Mega Pixel which is good for Video Chatting on High Speed Internet and for capturing images to share and print.The display is 1280×800 WXGA a Wide Screen XGA resolution which gives a good viewing experience for Movies with a little vertical stretching of HDTV and 720P movies which are true 16:9 resolution. But this stretch is not so noticeable. The Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 500 helps this video rendering for crisp picture quality.

A drawback is the absense of the buil in speaker. Dell supplies One External Speaker and it is not a good option for many customers to carry all the time with the Mini12 netbook. A built in speaker for this size range would be a good option for buyers if they like to choose a Mini with one.
