This is a Netbook or Subcompact Laptop from Dell and the screen size is 8.9inch. The weight is 1.034Kgs(2.24lbs) with the Solid State Drive (SSD) and 4Cell Li-Ion battery. Weight will vary for different configuration. Compared to the Acer netbook for the same configuration, we found no major difference in weight, size and battery life in this model.
This Dell Netbook comes with either Windows XP Home SP3 (or) Ubuntu inux version 8.04.01. The processor is the Intel Atom Procesor 1.6 GHZ. The display quality is good and the resolution of the display is good enough.

We feel the disadvantage on this model is the provision for External Audio Speaker. There is no in-built Audio Speaker in this Dell Netbook Mini9. There is no Optical Drive like other brand netbooks on this same size. And one more missing configuration is there is no provision to select an Regular 2.5″ HDD instead of SSD. You have to choose either the16GB-SSD or 32GB-SSD, so it is very essential to cary an external Hard Drive if you require to store huge data.
It comes with WiFi 802.11g mini-card, Bluetoothe is optional, 3in1Card reader, 3 USB2.0 ports, 15pin VGA Video out connector for adding a external display, integrated 10/100 Ethernet(Not Gigabit) and Optional WebCam.
Comparing the features of this Dell Netbook Mini9 with the Acer Mini8.9, there are plenty of options missing on this netbook to choose before you go for a buy.
